A finite-state machine is a model used to represent and control execution flow. It is perfect for implementing AI in games, producing great results without a complex code. A finite state machine can be used both as a development tool for approaching and solving problems and as a formal way of describing the solution for later developers and system maintainers. There are a number of ways to show state machines, from simple tables through graphically animated illustrations.

The Java 3D API enables the creation of three-dimensional graphics applications and Internet-based 3D applets. It provides high-level constructs for creating and manipulation 3D geometry and building the structures used in rendering that geometry. With this software, you can efficiently define and render very large virtual worlds.

The uses of SQL include modifying database table and index structures; adding, updating and deleting rows of data; and retrieving subsets of information from within a database for transaction processing and analytics applications. Queries and other SQL operations take the form of commands written as statements -- commonly used SQL statements include select, add, insert, update, delete, create, alter and truncate.

The purpose of this lesson is to become familiar with the Packet Tracer interface. Learn how to use existing topologies and build your own.
Packet Tracer (PT) is a powerful and dynamic tool that displays the various protocols used in networking, in either Real Time or Simulation mode. This includes layer 2 protocols such as Ethernet and PPP, layer 3 protocols such as IP, ICMP, and ARP, and layer 4 protocols such as TCP and UDP. Routing protocols can also be traced.

In asynchronous sequential circuits the inputs are levels and there are no clock pulses; the inputs events drive the circuit.
An asynchronous digital input doesn't use a clock to pace the input. The computer is free to do whatever it needs while waiting for an input event. Asynchronous inputs are usually associated with inputs that do not occur in regular intervals. Monitoring when a telephone rings would be perfect for an asynchronous input.

FIR filters are digital filters with finite impulse response. They are also known as non-recursive digital filters as they do not have the feedback (a recursive part of a filter), even though recursive algorithms can be used for FIR filter realization.

Allegro is a cross-platform library mainly aimed at video game and multimedia programming. It handles common, low-level tasks such as creating windows, accepting user input, loading data, drawing images, playing sounds, etc. and generally abstracting away the underlying platform. However, Allegro is not a game engine: you are free to design and structure your program as you like.
